Jessica Kantor

J Jessica focuses on storytelling in 360 Video and VR. Most recently her experience ASHES, a narrative told thru dance, premiered at Tribeca 2016. In addition, Jessica has created branded 360 videos for RallyBound, J.P Wiser and Miller Light / Pride.com amongst others.

 

ASHES

In the last two years, Jessica has been sought out for her work in 360 Video and Virtual Reality. Jessica’s credits include a short VR film called THE ARCHER which was programmed in the Kaleidoscope VR Film Festival, Cucalorus Film Festival and the Liege Webfest. ASHES which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and went on to play at Arles VR Festival and Edinburgh Digital Festival. Jessica has created 360 videos for Miller Lite/ Pride.com, RallyBound, and Wiser Distillery.

 

Playing with movement, space and time, ASHES tells the tragic story of two lovers told specifically for 360 headset environment.

 

Be a T-Rex in Virtual Reality

At the end of last year Jessica directed ‘Be a T-Rex in Virtual Reality’ which is being featured on Youtube’s Best of 360 List, a 360 music video for Warner Music Artist Hunter Hayes (premiering January 2017), and interactive 360 comedic drama called DINNER PARTY (2017).

 

RallyBound VR Experience

A 360 Flashmob for RallyBound. Situated under the iconic hollywood sign, a group of friends come together and dance their hearts out. Inspired by RallyBounds crowd funding software for organizations, RallyBound wanted a fun experience to use at the industry trade show they attend.

 

 

VR Dance Project

Most recently Jessica launched VR Dance Project releasing 4 original dance piece and has two in production as part of Google’s JUMP start program. In addition, Jessica was selected as a filmmaker for Oculus’ VR for Good program creating an immersive piece with Infinite Flow – a wheelchair dance company.

 

Jessica has spoken about her work in Virtual Reality on panels and in the classroom including the North Carolina School of the Arts,  Cucalorus Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, International Center of Photography and will be on an official panel at 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

 

In addition to the 360 video and Virtual Reality work, Jessica recently directed Alcoholocaust a short narrative about a teenager accepting her Judaism. Jessica has also directed 100’s of branded video while working for Livestream, and Sundance Institute.
